It Feels Like Spring

Happy Sunday! I hope you had a restful weekend.

I went to Walmart yesterday. I had to pick up some groceries but I also picked up some new dish towels. I don't know why but a few new dish towels and a couple of pot holders makes me happy. I love a bouquet of flowers or a new plant. This is right up there with that. I like to change things around for the seasons and holidays and since it feels like spring it seemed time to freshen up the linens in the kitchen.

I choose red. It seemed appropriate for Valentine's Day and yet crisp for spring.

Walmart had a pretty good selection. I don't go for the dish towels with pictures. If I stick with stripes or checks I will use a towel until it wears out.  The package with the checked towel came from Tuesday Morning. The cost for this group of dish towels and the pot holders was about the same as a couple of bouquets of grocery store flowers, but these will last much longer. I saved enough shopping at the super store to fund the towels.

These are so cute!

They look so vintage to me.

They would look cute with this little vintage dish towel. I found this darling red and green apple towel at the local craft store a few weeks ago. 

I'll save this one for display only. Do you do that? I don't think my husband's family had good towels on the towel bars and other towels to use. Mine did and it drives Mr. Bill nuts.

I can't be trusted with paper towels. I love having them, but I go through a roll so quickly. If I have a fresh dish towel handy at all times. I use far fewer paper towels. It's one small thing to help the planet.
