A Pinteresting Spring Break

Spring Break is here in Texas and I plan to tackle some of the things I have been pinning lately.
First and foremost is this door knob pin.
Here:
The upstairs has all new brushed nickle knobs. I wanted Oil Rubbed Bronze for downstairs to go with my front door.

I am afraid it is going to go "out" so I don't want to spend a lot to switch to look from our brassy knobs. I have tried it on the dining room chandelier and  one door knob and it looks good.

Here is what the chandelier looked like before.
I didn't do a whole post about it. I will do an after of all the ORB after spring break.
Only 10 knobs downstairs. I'll do
the hinges too and some switch plates.

I fell in love with wooden tool caddy. I am going to make it for my breakfast room table.

My sweet tooth is calling so I'll back some cupcakes. It will be something from my "cupcake madness" board. I'm thinking strawberry from scratch.

I also really would love to distress our newish gate.
Just kidding. Isn't this gorgeous. I do plan to work in the yard however.
(Sorry this doesn't go back to the original blog or photographer because it isn't watermarked.)

I plan to continue shabbying up the living room .
I have begun the mantel transformation, which is tough for me because the mantel only changes every two years or so.
I love this look.

(Again, pinner didn't pin directly back to blog or photography source.) Sad!

It started with the window I got for .50 cents.
And of course since I did the mantel I have to do everything else too. I'll pull a few Easter things out at the same time.

I think that should about do it.
I will putter, watch movies and sing out load to my i pod.
I can't wait to keep you updated on my progress.

  1. I like the oil rubbed bronze. I'm considering it for a house we are renovating, but I don't know, what kind of switchplate covers should I use??? The walls are going to be light so it seems broze switchplates would stand out too much. What is your opinion?

    1. The switch plate covers were blingy brass. I don't know if it would work on plastic. If you could find some metal ones for cheap otherwise I would just get orb new ones. I love the dark orb on a light wall color. It really seems to pop.
      Good luck,
      Katie
