Upstairs Guest Bathroom

It's black.
Rebekah was a teenager when we painted the vanity area of her bathroom.
Actually, it was Jonnie's bathroom too, but it is just off of her room.
It made sense to paint it to match her decor.
When he moved out we painted the vanity white and added these fun old gilt mirrors.
I've been holding off showing it to you because we need to make a change.
Our old plumber came to unclog the drain. (He has been replaced.)
Well, he broke the drain in the bottom of the sink and just left it. I think he was hoping we wouldn't notice.
Bill tried to hook it back up but the old cultured marble sink is worn so he couldn't reattach it underneath.

We were going to order a quartz counter for this vanity but decided not to since we have to have our bathroom completely redone. It was going to be a shocking amount of money for one bathroom countertop. I'd much rather put that money in the bathroom that we use everyday.
Instead we are doing a complete DIY. I hope it will be cute and charming.
But I'm not sure the black walls will stay.
I'm actually thinking about beadboard wainscot walls.
I'm also thinking about a frame for the large mirror.

This room has been black for so long that I'm having trouble visualizing it another way.
It feels old Hollywood glamour to me
and it's last room in the house with such a strong color.
I think I will miss it.
Bill damaged the wall this afternoon when he took out the counter so I will have to do something.
It will have to coordinate with the little potty and tub area.
I'll let you know what I come up with.
Katie
P.S. All mirrors were cleaned before taking these photos.
They were all taken pre-blogging days.
