Junkpalooza 2014/ Junking in Arlington

What is Junkpalooza?
It isn't a place. It's more a state of mind.
Not really. It is just junking.
You can read about Junkpalooza 2012 here.

My brother Dave loves junking as much as I do.
Several years ago he  wanted to come up and shop the thrift stores with me.

It was August. I was hot.
Since thrifting requires a bunch of in and out of a hot car that doesn't really cool off in-between stops, I decided that June would be a better month for extreme junking.
We have 8 thrift stores in town and several antique stores. We shop the best of them.

Day 1 was all about hitting the antique shops. My sister in law joined us for the antiquing day.

Day 2 involved stalking the thrift stores and the Half Price Book Stores.

Thrilled to find this book in the collectable section at Half Price Books. I haven't seen it since I was a kid.

I'm going to paint the clipboards with chalkboard paint.

On the third day we only went to two shops.
I was thrilled to find some ornaments to replace the ones the cat broke when he tried to climb the Christmas tree.

I have been looking for these for years!

My favorite item has to be the cow butter dish.
She is so cute and was only $1.91.

Three days of antiquing, thrifting, good eating and family.  So fun.
