Christmas Present In the Kitchen

Kitchen stuff for Christmas is usually a no-no.
This time it is a yes!
He hit it out of the park and surprised me.
That, my friends, is hard to do.

I began to see images of enameled dutch ovens sitting on stove tops.
We use our cast iron frying pans daily and most of the time they sit on the stove waiting for the next meal.

I thought that a white dutch oven would look so much cuter than the old cast iron skillet.

Tuesday Morning had some from Bella.
I bought one in red for our family gift exchange.
If someone got and it and they were happy - fine.
If not, I'd have happily taken it home and set it on my stove.
I didn't end up with it and decided that I was going to hunt one down in white.

Somehow my husband must have gotten wind of my plan because he got on-line and found an oval Le Creuset dutch oven for me.
I was shocked and thrilled.

It's so pretty on the stove.
Our oldest wanted to do some sale shopping at the outlet mall after Christmas.
We popped in at the outlet and found a utensil holder to match.

The pitcher was a gift card purchase from Bed, Bath and Beyond. They have a cute line of white china.
I won the gift card in the aforementioned gift exchange.

The laundry room is right off of the kitchen.
(Just an FYI.)

We still love the night light I crafted from an old bird cage and twinkle lights.
It's got a clock face to go with our January theme.

This enamel clock is one of my favorites.

It's perfect with my big Ball jar.

Here is my word of the week - maybe the year.

I need to be present in the now.
I spend way too much time worrying about the future.
I want to live in the present and be "here".

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Christmas present.
 Katie
P.S. I'm too afraid to cook in it. It's just so pretty!

  3. I'm laughing at your last statement, Katie! Our oldest daughter wanted a white one, too, and the first thing I thought was that it wouldn't stay white very long. Don't you love it when your hubby listens and surprises you with something you've talked about?

  8. Your kitchen is so pretty and inviting, your new gift, white Dutch oven is such a great addition; what a nice Mr., he read your mind. I got one a couple of years ago from hubby too in a cobalt blue, but smaller then yours. Great gift!

  9. If I cooked, I would like a Le Creuset, but my husband does the cooking and he has never asked for one.

I love all the pretty white items you bought. I've been decorating with a lot of white this winter.

    Thanks for Sharing Your Cup!
