Bible Passages About The Birth Of Jesus

I always enjoy re-reading the Bible passages about the birth of Christ during the Christmas season.
Since it is the first Sunday in Advent, it's a perfect time to bring you some of my favorites.

Genesis 3:15 is the first time we see the plan for the Savior.
"And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers: he will crush your head and you will strike his heel."
Her offspring is ultimately Jesus. He will be struck on the heel upon His death but ultimately, Christ has the victory.

Isaiah 7:14
"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel."

Isaiah 9: 2
"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of darkness a light has dawned."

Isaiah 9:6
" For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace."

That's my favorite verse in all of the Bible.

Luke 1
This is an amazing chapter.
Elizabeth is expecting John the baptist.
Mary is expecting Jesus.
John leaps in the womb at the sound of Mary's voice.
Amazing.
The whole chapter is wonderful.

Matthew 1 lists the genealogy of Jesus.
At the end of this chapter, an angel comes to Joseph and tells him to take Mary as his wife.

The story jumps over to Luke 2 in which Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem.
There is no room for them in an inn so Christ is born in a stable.

The shepherds keep watch and the angels sing.

The wise men show up in Matthew chapter 2.

Even though they are present in every manger scene available for sale, they really don't show up until Jesus is a toddler. They aren't still living in a stable at that point.

The Bible isn't the easiest book to navigate.
It's not always chronological and finding passages can be difficult.
I hope this helps you find passages that relate the greatest story ever told.
