My favorite and most used machine is nearly 50 years old, made of cast iron, and if I asked it to, I believe that it would cook supper!!!! I have made everything from christening gowns to bimini boat covers!! That's not to say that I sew all the time, but when I decide a room needs new drapes/table covers/pillows...you name it, it's nice to be able to make exactly what I am picturing in my mind!!
Thanks for a great post...lovely rooms, and one birdy pillow that is calling my name! I just have to find a graphic :^)
Blessings to you,
JJaybirdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06140775009986030091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7459400132166733757.post-4131669442285241612015-03-08T19:57:35.069-05:002015-03-08T19:57:35.069-05:00This looks awesome, Katie. My grandmother was an expert seamstress, and I think she taught me a few things. I only wish that I still had her Singer sewing machine - it would be an antique now. I took Homemaking in the 6th grade which consisted half of the year cooking and the other half sewing. My mother had previously started teaching me to sew and I always remember not understanding the directions from the patterns so she would show me all the time (I have always been a more visual person). Eventually when I got it down, she said "now I can stop making your clothes and you can make your own and I will buy you all the material." I am so glad she taught me, because it has come in handy throughout the years. It is almost like riding a bike...once you learn it, you never forget! Advice for those just learning, "Just be patient, practice a lot...and you will get it" Just Judyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08185854193151372108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7459400132166733757.post-33906801272707886092015-03-07T07:40:55.229-06:002015-03-07T07:40:55.229-06:00I got a new sewing machine for Christmas about 3 y...I got a new sewing machine for Christmas about 3 years ago. Never have used it...for some reason I'm intimidated. My son has used it to sew costumers though. :) Staceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05728612514516285320noreply@blogger.com
