Getting to Know My Camera

I have upgraded my camera twice on my blogging journey.
We got a Nikon d5200 before we went to Alaska
It's a great camera.
I got to know it a little at first but developed a bad habit of shooting in auto when I was frustrated or when the lighting wasn't just right.

I used the same buttons over and over again.
With the recent time change, I was frustration once again over lack of light.

It's dark in here...
I've got to be home during the day to take pictures.
It's already too dark by the time I get home from school.
I went back to the drawing board to try to learn more about my camera.

I knew a little about ISO but I didn't know much about f-stop or shutter speed.
How do you get a blurrier background?

I'll let you in on a secret, which may not be that much of a secret.
I set f-stop and shutter speed according to what one blogger said was used most often and left them alone or used auto.

I did a lot of editing in iPhoto which isn't the best program.
Just saying...

Yes, that is some pink showing up around here.

Christmas is not staying yet but some of it did come out the other day for photos.
Have you had camera frustrations?
Why didn't I go take a class?

Thanks to the internet, I'm figuring some stuff out.
It's about time!
Thanks for stopping by.
