The Christmas Lights Are Done!

I'm having writer's block. It really is a thing.
I thought that once I quit my job, I'd have all this time to create fun and witty content.
Nope.
I don't think I'm fun or witty, at all. I'm absolutely uninspired.
I guess I'm less witty when I'm not stressed out.

After a "late to the party" phone call to our landscape guy, he came by to assess our upcoming Christmas light display.
I was pretty sure that I was too late to get onto his schedule but his other clients haven't gotten their "party" plans together. I blame the weather because it's been so hot here.
He came by on Wednesday to talk about what I had planned.
He quickly fired me from any creative decision making.

We have lights outlining the eaves but also the top of the roof line and the garage doors.

Our house has a really interesting roof line so it's fun to show it off.
They also wrapped our two trees. These are wrapped much higher than we ever did.
There are icicles cascading up a tree limb toward the house.

It looks amazing. It's more lights than we have ever had.
These are all warm white LED.
The labor was not that expensive. The upfront cost of the lights was painful, I'm not going to lie.
I thought Bill was going to flip out but he didn't.

White Christmas 2009
Here is our home in other years.

After we pulled out our overgrown landscape. There were no bushed for lights.

The upfront cost of these was more than other light strings but they should last for years.
A few strings may need to be replaced next year but I plan on picking some up during after Christmas sales.
All of this can be run on one plug because they are LED. We can also put them on a timer.

Bill is very afraid that our light display is going to throw off the pattern of migratory birds.
I hope we don't have helicopters mistaking it for a landing pad

I hope this finds you well.
Katie

My thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by these horrific mass killings.
