I love Liz Marie. She is the queen of all things farmhouse and she puts together such amazing vignettes.

What stood out initially is the flag hung on the window behind the sofa.
I have three sofas.
One is in the mancave - nope!
The sunroom sofa has a window behind it but I just featured that in March.
The living room sofa is my choice this month. Behind our sofa is a very heavy mirror.
I tried moving it once to paint and two of the gold pieces broke off when I tried to get it back up.
I wasn't about to move the mirror again so the mirror is the focal point instead of an old chippy window.
I draped a retired old flag over the mirror so that the detail of the mirror still shows and I love it!

The Liz Marie signature white sofa was the next element that I noticed. I love having a white sofa! Mine is a slipcover. I can pop it off and toss it in the wash if it gets dirty.
I loaded ours with ticking stripe and white pillows. The small striped pillow was made from an IKEA dish towel.
The ticking pillows stay on our sofa all year. I add seasonal and holiday pillows as needed.
Yes-I need them. Haha.
Our coffee table is an antique wedding trunk from the late 1800s.
The tray on the trunk is an important element in the inspiration photo and adds an essential layer to the look.
I love our ROMANTISK tray from IKEA. I set it on a ticking stripe table runner.
Instead of a olive bucket, I used the white ironstone pitcher that is a constant on our coffee table. It gets weekly arrangements with cut flowers from our garden. I've stepped up my rose game this spring so this week it sports red roses and greenery.
My gold frame has a vintage graphic with two flags like the inspiration picture.
Instead of a grouping of vintage Ball jars, one jar holds a faux votive.
The vintage liberty bell was a thrifted find.

My grandfather's 1920's manual from the Navy adds a very patriotic touch.
It's hard to believe that this book is 100 years old.
Another layered detail from the photo is the ottoman.
I pulled in a cute stool instead. We found it at antique store years ago before it was harder to find cute chippy white stuff.
The gingham covered top echoes the blue from the pillows and table runner.
I noticed one final detail from sweet inspiration photo - a child's trike. If you have followed Liz, you will be aware of her struggle with infertility and miscarriage.
Last year she and Jose adopted a sweet baby boy. The trike is a gentle reminder that God hears the cries and deep longings of our hearts. He is faithful to fulfill those desires.
I didn't have a trike to add to our sofa display. I did have an adorable vintage ferry boat.
I can't remember where I got this but it is a favorite in patriotic vignettes.
As well, a darling child's book from my mother in law sits on the coffee table. I adore the illustrations in the book. The patriotic parade cover is so precious.
