Pinterest Challenge/ A Simple Elegant Tablescape

Welcome to October's Pinterest Challenge hosted by Cindy of County Road 407.
Cindy continues to inspire us month after month and this month is no exception.

If you are coming from Decor To Adore, I'm thrilled you are here. I love Laura. She is a wonderful blogging friend. She is as darling in person as she is on her blog.

This gorgeous simple and elegant Thanksgiving tablescape is from Lindsay Brunk.
The copper flatware, the gray tablecloth, the thankful graphic and the eucalyptus were all elements that stuck out to me initially.
It's sleek and modern and elegant. My version has the same elements but it's cozy, cottage, and farmhouse all rolled into one.

We don't have any copper flatware but we did have a gold set that I picked up last year at the thrift store.
It became the springboard for my version of the tablescape.
Several years ago, I attended An Evening With Joanna Gaines.
This printable was one of our favors from the evening.
Fixer Upper was only one season old at the time and Joanna's popularity had just begun.
I was even able to get my picture with Chip.

The eucalyptus for my version came out of the centerpiece we've been enjoying this fall.
It is a garland from Kirkland's. I cut it in half. Half of it is in here and the other half is in the kitchen.
It's full of pumpkins, lambs ear, eucalyptus and white berries.

Instead of a napkin, I pulled out some black, white and gold hotel china.

This table is set for Bill and I. During the country and Victorian heyday of the 80s and 90s, Salado, Texas was one of the places to go for a wonderful antique weekend.
I found these two plates in a darling shop called Sir Wigglesworth. I always hoped to find more to match but I have never seen anymore like them.

Black and white buffalo checked pumpkins have been a favorite this fall.

They go well with the china from Bill's grandmother.

I wish I had more of this china to use for Thanksgiving because I love how this came together.

Be sure to stop in and see Lora Bloomquist at Create and Ponder. She has such a cute, cute style.
Then hop over and see everyone in the link up.
I bet they had as much fun as I did.
Have a great day.

Fall Birthday Tablescape

We had company on Sunday for a birthday lunch.

I wanted to share the tablescape with you.

We have black chargers so that was the base for the design.

The grocery store had these beautiful yellow sunflowers.
Black and yellow is a popular color scheme.

The plates are Adam's China.
The napkins are actually dishrags from Dollar Tree.
We are getting a Dollar Tree a couple of doors down from work. Yahoo.

My sister in law brought me the roses. They are just gorgeous and went perfectly with the table.

We have had the corn teapot for a few years.
We got it from Bill's Granny Vi.
We were missing her presence on Sunday.

I took the chalkboard off of the wall last week when I made the temporary backsplash a little more permanent. I just set it on the table.
It is so cute as part of the centerpiece.

That is it for this Wednesday.
What are you up to?

Thanksgiving Table Setting

We are having a pretty quiet Thanksgiving this year.
I am super excited to start showing of my kitchen redo to some of the family, but..
I have been putting myself under too much stress recently.

I need to dial some stuff back in my life.

I want the table and decor to be simple,
with stuff I can throw in the dishwasher when we are finished eating.
So
I won't be pulling out the good china.

Earlier this fall, I was inspired by these preserved leaves I found at Tom Thumb.
I tucked them under twine napkin rings.
I will reuse them to set our Thanksgiving table.
I am not a huge fan of browns, golds, orange and red.
I want to use my white Adam's china plates.
I found these at the thrift store for only a dollar each.
I ran out and got some silver charges at
Hobby Lobby.

I found these turkey salad plates at Tuesday Morning.

I will reuse some linen napkins my sister-in-law gave me.

The acorns came from Big Lots ages ago.

We will use my mom's sterling

and

Bill's Grandmother's goblets.

Those will be the only things that need

hand washing. The rest we can pop in the dishwasher.

Some turkeys placed here and there.
This cute turkey was terra cotta. I sprayed him with Rust Oleum in a white semi gloss finish.

If I am not hosting, I tend to skip
Thanksgiving decor all together and start on Christmas.
It has been fun to focus on one holiday at a time, instead of the house looking like a Hobby Lobby has exploded.
I have been able to think about the many blessings He has given me and
to slow down, take my time and just be quiet.
Happy Thanksgiving!
~Sprinkled with remembering what the holidays are supposed to be about,~
