My Favorite Projects of the Year

I was just told to stop putting Christmas away and blog.
That is what I'll do.
Let's recap my favorite posts of the year, shall we?

My top project is our little pool.
It kept me cool all summer.
It was economical and practical and it even looked cute in the yard.

I was able to enjoy the yard so much more than I have in the past because I wasn't baking in 110 degree heat.

It was horrible and messy to do but removing the popcorn from nine of our ceilings this year has felt amazing.
Each room looks cleaner without those ghastly, popcorny shadows dancing everywhere.
I also don't have to worry about hiding them in blog photos anymore.

The two wainscot projects were fun to do and they are so cute.
I learned some stuff in the process as well.

The kitchen looks bigger and more open with the new shelves. This project continues to get compliments from friends and family.

Figuring out that our table used to have leaves and that it would extend was an unexpected discovery.
It has really changed our seating in the dining room.
Bill and I made some leaves and now it extends to seat eight comfortably. Our old table could seat 10 with an extension but it was extremely awkward.

There you have it.
I've quietly blogged while Bill sleeps peacefully upstairs.

  2. Katie, you certainly were busy this past year. I can only imagine how much you enjoyed the pool this summer, and in one of our former houses we had the popcorn ceilings and I hated them. I'm so glad for you that you were able to get rid of them. I hope you have a wonderful New Years..Judy
