Welcome to our home decorated for Christmas.
Can you see her peeking her head around the corner of the stairs?
The new mirror got an artificial wreath decorated with silver ribbon and real greenery.
The dresser has some natural elements with a touch of pink.
The scheme is carried into the living room where the tree is the focal point.
More silver ribbon, white icicles and pink ornaments adorn this tree.
Maybe I say this every year but this is one of my favorite trees.
You can read more about it here.
Since the tree takes center stage, I kept the mantel very simple.
There are pine cones, antlers and birch branches.
The pink stocking is made from a cashmere sweater from the thrift store.
The blush pink continues into the kitchen because it looks great with the new granite and wall color.
We love our new Bianco Romano countertops.
Painting our cabinets lightened and brightened a very dark room.
The cookie cutters came from my mom.
The rolling pin belonged to my grandmother.
She made the best pies with this thing.
The pink biscuit jar belonged to Bill's Granny Vi.
How cute is it?
I love decorating with things that aren't Christmas but they evoke a holiday feel.
The little cottage from Walmart was red but it got a makeover with pink paint, glitter and a little reindeer.
It is one of my favorite little treasures this holiday season.
The cubbies in the kitchen always get a touch or two for the holidays.

The birdhouse came from the awesome Christmas store in town. I pulled the red berries off and replaced them with pink ones.
Thankfully, he can sit here day after day.
I don't have to worry about him pranking us like some elves.
He is checking to see if Bill is naughty or nice, though.
An old faux cupcake got some pink touches.
The garden room is one of our favorite rooms in the house.
A new tree decorated with cardinals stands in this space.
I love the red transferware with Christmas greens!
Our room is at the top of the stairs.
Our new quilt was the inspiration for the decor in this room.
The ornaments on the white tree are the same soft green as in the quilt.
The $40.00 tree came from Walmart.

The ornaments are all a fun, vintage green color to coordinate with our bedding.
Bill wasn't a fan of the white tree until it had lights and decorations.
This tree shimmers and glows but is also pretty with lights off.
Now, he loves this tree and so do I.
Here is another look at the guest room.
There you have it.
Be sure to stop by each of the blogs in the tour.

Katie,
ReplyDeleteYour cookie cutters, rolling pin, and biscuit jar are such treasures. Your white tree reminds me of one my mom had many years ago. I've pinned some of your photos to the Christmas in Texas Pinterest board.

Katie, your home is one I'd love to spend time in. Walking in that beautiful entry makes me smile. I love the light airy look, and yes, the sun porch would be my favorite room too. We live in our sun room too! In fact, that is where we put up our tree. '-)

I love your skates too. I don't know what happened to mine. I learned to skate on the ice rink in the movie "Home Alone". I used to skate so much that I became really good at thawing out frozen toes ;-) I could sit for hours in your garden room. What a pretty and serene space!
ReplyDeleteBig Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
