12 Crafts of Christmas/ #7 Miniature Sleds & #8 Mini-Miniature Sleds

Sometimes Blogger is as bad of a speller as I am.
Blogger doesn't know how to spell miniature either?
What in the world!
I'm going to have to rush through the last 6 crafts of Christmas so #7 and #8 are combined.
I hope you can cope.
I've just about got all of the crafting done.
I just have to take pictures, edit and write the posts.

I told you about my super adorable sled made out of scrap lumber from the garage.
Aside from using scraps of Mahogany "on accident" the sleigh went off without a hitch.
It was so easy, I put my mind to smaller versions that I could stick in the game room tree.

I wanted sleds in my tree when I saw this post by one of my favorite bloggers.
Liz Marie is restoring an old farmhouse.
What a dream!

I had some left over lath strips from the laundry room wainscot.
They became the bed slats for the seats on both of the sleds.
They became the rails for the mini-mini ornaments.

The mini-mini sleds were glued together.
The larger one was put together with brads.

I should have curved the top of the bed slats on the littlest example. Next time.

You could easily make these out of Popsicle sticks but I'd cut of the rounded end to make them look less like a Popsicle stick.

A little red one got a makeover with green paint and snowflakes.

I rounded up every sled ornament I had and put it on the tree.

Look at this cutie. I found him at Pier 1.

Thanks for stopping by.

Make some sleds. It's easy.
I really wish I'd thought of this years ago when my daughter was little.
This sled would have been the perfect size for her American Girl doll.

The runners are 14 inches long. The bed rails or seat is 9 inches long.

It is painted green to match my decor.
What a cute Christmas present this would be.
Have a wonderful Saturday.

  1. I love miniatures, including your clever sleds. I use coffee stirrers to make fences etc. Check out miniatures.com. When they have a contest, it's truly amazing.
    Merry Christmas to all.
