My Husband Should Be A Life Coach

I decided my husband should be a life coach.
He is incredibly affirming.
He planned a few games for my 60th birthday party.

The first one was Katie Mansfield trivia also called No Family Trivia because family couldn't play.
Where was Katie born? etc, etc.
New Rochelle, New York FYI - The fictional home of Rob and Laura Petrie.

The second game was a virtue challenge. Bill had us rate virtues.
About this, Bill quoted C.S. Lewis. "In friendship...we think we have chosen our peers. In reality a few years' difference in the dates of our births, a few more miles between certain houses, the choice of one university instead of another...the accident of a topic being raised or not raised at a first meeting--any of the chances might have kept us apart. But, for the Christian, there, strictly speaking no chances. A secret master of ceremonies has been at work. Christ, who said to the disciples, "Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you." can truly say to every group of Christian friends, "ye have not chosen one another but have chosen you for one another." The friendship is not reward for our discriminating and good taste in finding one another out. It is the instrument by which God reveals to each of the beauties of others."

The virtues themselves were very affirming. The way he scored this game was a little genius. He had me rate myself. Knowing that I am incredibly hard on myself, he gave points for the matching top and bottom answer.
I don't even know what erudite means. I just know the doctor told me I didn't have a erudite infection.
Erudite sounds like an infection to me.
He gave out gift cards for the most and fewest points. I think some people might have cheated.
They also got to write in a virtue at the bottom of the card.

I told you about our goal setting in this post
Bill had our friends fill out goals for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 years out.
Some were fun, funny and serious.
Some involved us buying a lake house or farm house and fixing it up.
Some involved Let's Add Sprinkles going viral.
(If you figure out how to do that, let me know.)
Some involved me conquering physical challenges like running a marathon, climbing Mt. Everest or juggling chainsaws.

A couple of people hoped I'd be president.
There were goals for daughter's in laws and a son in law.
There was a goal for grandchildren.
We already talked about that in the same post linked above.
My sister opened in prayer.
My friend, Michelle closed in prayer.
Both prayers almost caused irreparable damage to my make up.

Bill called this a party not a celebration because they call funerals a celebration of life.
It was all that and more. I was blessed by my family and friends as I'm sent off into a new decade.
Bill gave out face paint. Goals unless they are put into action are like face paint. They was off and are forgotten.
I don't have confidence in myself. I am not finished. I may not be working but I have more to do in my next three (or four) decades.

Great job, Bill Mansfield!
I am blessed.
Have a blessed day.
Katie

Your husband did a great job!! Joe would love to do something like this but he knows that I would kill him if he did. I am not into making a big thing out of my Birthday especially in public. It's just a thing with me..

  9. Drink plenty of water before and after your massage to help flush out toxins released from the muscles, always communicate with your therapist about the temperature of the stones and the pressure of the massage to ensure your comfort, allow yourself to fully relax and embrace the experience. Focus on your breathing and let go of any tension or stress
