Hi and welcome to Keep In Touch. Your weekly Tuesday party - sometimes! Sometimes, I completely forget about it. I do appreciate you for sticking with me. My life has gotten crazy!
I am happy about it though.
Do you want to recap with me?
At the end of June we put an offer in for a house. It fell through so we decided to get new floors. We got our tile cracked up on July 8th. I rehabbed a bathroom July 15th - 22nd. Our dog was attacked by another dog the night of the 22nd.
On August 19th they started installing our new wood floors. We put the house back together that weekend and began installing baseboards and painting them.
On August 26th, I started a new part time job because I was bored. Haha.
My mother died August 31st. We left for her funeral on the next Thursday. There was drama. There were also items to move to my house.
On September 10th and 11th they came to install the wood for my stairs. Read about them in this post.
On September 18th we left for 10 days in Italy. October was actually quite uneventful except that I started pursuing resolution to my terrible looking stairs. A few weeks ago, Bill went to the Dr. for a strained foot. He had the Dr. look at a wart. It wasn't a wart. It was a cyst which he had removed last week.
I think I'll be ready for 2019 to come to a close.
Let's hope that when I get to the end of my rope, I find that there is more than just soap.
I am hosting Thanksgiving this year. Yes, I have my Christmas trees up.
They will have to cope.
An interesting this happened today as I was setting the table and doing some cleaning.
I'd begun to set Christmas knick knacks around but decided to put them all in a laundry basket until Friday. I'm actually loving having no seasonal decor besides some pinecones, acorns, fruit, and flowers. I may have to forgo some of the traditional Christmas folderol until closer to Christmas.
Here are my centerpieces for Thursday.
I've never bought a pomegranate until today. I've never arranged flowers in my rose bowl before.
Love it!
I got a wild hair yesterday morning and decided to cover a couple of my chandelier chains.
I've never draped my chandeliers with Christmas greens but I'm going to try it this year.
Let's go crazy!
I've been collecting some vintage graphic for picture frames.
Amaryllis too.
The dried orange slices have been so much fun.
Here's one of my late fall crossing into Christmas vignettes.
That is it for now.
Now for our features.
I love these plates by Dinner at Eight.
I also love this updated vintage Christmas tree by Apple Street Cottage.

I'll be back tomorrow for some Thanksgiving thoughts concerning 2019.
Katie
You've had quite a year, Katie. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving in your lovely home. Thanks for hosting your party for us.
ReplyDeleteKatie, what a lovely surprise to see that you've featured one of my fall tables! Thank you for that, and for hosting each week regardless of what's been happening. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteSuch a busy time for you, hopefully things will settle down. Thanks so much for hosting!
ReplyDeleteKatie, your Thanksgiving table is just lovely. so beautiful with your floral arrangements. I've never bought a pomegranate eitherand didn't know how to spell it. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting each week and have a great week
ReplyDeleteI love your decor. And yes, I think I might cave today too, since no one is dining here on TG! And probably, even if they were! Have a lovely holiday.
ReplyDeleteKatie,
ReplyDeleteI also can not wait for this year to be over with...my unit closed down, I had to move my knee surgery up since I could not walk, my nephew passed away and I had to resign 6 months prior to my planned retirement since I did not have a job or unit to go back to...
Thanks so much for hosting each week!! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Hugs,
Debbie
You've had so much to handle this year Katie! I hope you have a chance to rest and relax over the long holiday weekend. I'll be adding my prayers to the others for things to slow down and for your husband's healing too. Hugs, CoCo
