While we were touring in Charleston, our tour guide related that the 54 signers of the Declaration of Independence were in essence signing their death warrants.
I guess I must have been dozing during that part of history class.
They sacrificed much for our liberty.
They were hunted, imprisoned, starved, and hung.
They lost property, wealth and family.
"We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately."

The way to liberty was costly.
I hope, collectively as a nation, we can remember that.
