I don't why but the countdown to the beginning of Spring Break is exhilarating.
I think because both Thanksgiving and Christmas are working holidays.
Spring Break is holiday free and that means somewhat stress free.
The whole week is open to whatever the whim that strikes.
Besides the staying in my P.J.s a little longer, I have big plans.
I plan to scrape the popcorn off of a couple of ceilings and re-paint.
I know, I know, scraping popcorn is a hideous job but there's a water stain from the tub upstairs that I have to fix.
( I needed to fix it two years ago...)
I'm doing the hall and powder room.
I also plan to clean the downstairs shower 3 times.
I'm cleaning it with comet, bleach and then CLR.
Then, I'm getting one of those kits and painting the tile.
Yup!
Bill said the bathroom redo was on hold so I'm painting over the cornflower blue.
I'll be able to live with it a little better if it is white.
This shower doesn't get used very much so it should hold up until we can rip out the tile, tub, build a shower and get glass.
Which is why I thought now was the time to scrap it off in this room.
If I can get all that done, this room will be finished until the big redo next year.
This is how I feel about popcorn ceilings.
"And on the eighth day, Satan created popcorn ceilings."
Every time I scrape at this horrible stuff, I want to come face to face with the guy who invented it.
I still have about 15 closet and bedroom doors I still need to paint if I'm not too sick of V.O.C.s, dust and dirt by then.
I heard the tile paint is wicked stuff.
We will see. I'm excited and ready.
What are you doing next week?
It sounds like you are going to be very busy! Have fun with all your work around the house.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a minute I'd be thrilled if you could pop on over to my blog and share you post at my weekly Say G'day Saturday linky party. It has just started and this would be a great addition.
Best wishes,
Natasha in Oz
Thanks, Natasha. I'll be right over.
DeleteI'd be happy to get just one of those tasks accomplished! We've got popcorn ceilings in the living and dining room, but I have a feeling I wouldn't like what I find underneath, so it's staying for now. I'm anxious to see how your tile painting goes!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures...Looks great and creative too..
ReplyDeleteYou are something, Katie! That's an ambitious list! I think it's a great idea to paint the tile in the bathroom, and I bet it makes a huge difference. Can't wait to see the finished product. And good luck with the popcorn ceilings!
ReplyDeleteI just popped by to say thank you for joining in with my Say G'day Saturday party! Hope you can stop by again this weekend.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes and happy Saturday!
