Happy Easter

"He is not here, he has risen just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen fro the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.'
Matt. 28:5-7

When the women got to the tomb, they thought his body had been stolen.

If it had been stolen it would perpetuate the rumors.
Rumors that he wasn't the son of God.
Rumors that he was simply a religious zealot.

As I was telling this story to the kids the other day it struck me that a critical part of this passage is
"There you will see him."
They did see him.
He appeared to his disciples several times before he ascended into heaven.

Would I still believe if he hadn't shown himself to people or would I believe that he was just a great man?
I hope I would have had the faith to believe without any one having seen him.
By showing himself he gave witness to that fact that he conquered the grave and the tomb.

That He was who He said He was.

This story is farfetched and hard to believe.
The foundation of my faith rests on the fact that his body wasn't stolen, that He had victory over death.
He is alive.
"There you will see him!"
Have a blessed Easter!
