Spring In East Texas

Hi friends,

We are in East Texas at the lake and spring has sprung.

The flowers around my sister in law's house are so pretty.

The birds are chirping like crazy.

   The redbud tree has blossomed

Beautiful.

The sweet Violets are blooming.

These remind me of my grandmother every single time I see them.

This purple is just too gorgeous.

All this color has me fooled into thinking that it's time to get my flowers in the ground.

We've had a mild winter but we could still get a hard freeze so I'll wait a couple more weeks.

I'm excited to get my hands dirty.
Have a wonderful day!

  1. I actually need to get flowers in the soil now or it will be too hot. I do love all that beauty you have shared from your sweet Texas! Blessings, Cindy xo

  2. The birds have been chirping in East Texas backyard, too. I am probably a little more toward the Red River, but my daffodils in back have bloomed & now the ones in the front are finishing. I've had roses off & on all winter, usually after a rain. You're right, we will have one more hard freeze before Easter. I can tell you've had someone in your life that understands Texas qeather. Peas are planted, but I haven't seen the rebus yet. Time to head East with my camera. I plan on going on the Dogwood trail. Thanks for sharing. Have a great Sunday.

  3. Thank you so much for identifying the red bud tree. I had seen them and wondered what they were. Gorgeous!

  4. Early spring is my favorite time of year, when the trees begin to bud and everything starts to turn green. Enjoy! We'll be seeing those signs at the end of April to mid May. A looong way off!

  7. Still brown here in NC. We've had a few warm days as a tease but March could bring any type of weather. So nice to see such beautiful flowers!
