New Every Morning

His mercies are new every morning.

What a morning it was.
I woke up to find the dog curled around the toilet.

A sure sign that a storm was on the way.

Golf ball sized hail.
The storm went on and on.

There is damage to both of our vehicles.

Normally Bill's car at this time of day would have been safely in the parking garage in uptown Dallas.

This morning he had a doctor's appointment to hear about his new normal.

The sweet waitress at Cracker Barrel made my coffee just the way I like it.

This little thing helped us begin to process the misdiagnosis of Bill's diabetes.
He is Type 1 not Type 2. The journey of the last six years finally makes a little more sense.

The present left on the dining room table sums it all up.
The cat clearly doesn't care for golf ball sized hail.

His mercies are new every morning.
There will be insurance to deal with and repairs to be scheduled.
Bill will adjust to injections and test strips.

I am incredulous at how the Lord took care of us in the last six years.
Adult onset Type 1 is rare.
I just had a feeling that something just wasn't right and  I could see my husband deteriorate before my very eyes.
I began to wonder if I would be a widow in the near future.
Bill will deal with this with his usual fortitude and grace but say a prayer for him, if you think about it.

I've been misty eyed all day as I think about how tender His loving care.
Psalm 91:14
"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him:
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble.
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."
The Lord gave me this verse for Bill in 1993.
Still fitting for today.
Thanks friends!

  3. Hope all gets well and under control. I think we got the tail end of your hailstorm as ours was just dime size by the time it hit us.

  6. Katie,
The best news is the doctors now have a correct diagnosis and a plan of what to do. Stay strong... if you two made it six years through a wrong diagnosis, this will be so much easier. Hope all goes well with insurance and repairs from the hail damage...

  7. Katie, your hubby is in my prayers. Thankfully, you have the correct diagnosis and can press on from here one day at a time. May God bless you...
