Tiered Trays and Cheerleaders

Galvanized, Fall, Baby Boos, Hydrangeas

I'm sure you are familiar with those towers of cheerleaders.
The success of the girl on the top tier is only as strong as the girls on the bottom.

When I was in the sixth grade, I got to be a cheerleader for the boy's basketball team.
I went to a very small Lutheran school. I think, maybe there were six girls in our sixth grade graduating class.
It was not a big squad.
I don't know how a basketball team was formed with the minuscule number of boys that we had.
I was not a successful cheerleader. I was a little too timid and shy but I think that our squad just wasn't big enough.
It was suggested to me that maybe it just wasn't my "thing".
I took the constructive criticism and whole heartedly agreed.
I retired my little wool skirt and pom poms for good.

I was reminded of that yesterday when my bigger squad of blogging cheerleaders went to town to fix our Inlinkz issue on Sunday.

Some of them didn't have a pom-pom in the game.
In fact, our success could have taken from their success.
You would think it would be a little "blog eat blog".

But no, that isn't how the blogging community works.

While I was work, caring for my sweet babies and handling some issues, my blogging community was behind the scenes getting our party up and going.

I had emails and messages cheering us on, people were praying for my brother and still others were offering tips and suggestions on how to get our issue resolved.
We had blogging experts doing whatever they do to decode a broken code.
It was amazing.

This summer, a wise blogger told me that there is enough for all of us out there on the internet and that I need to build my squad.               My coalition, as my daughter calls them.

If the recent actions of my blogging community are any indication, I would have to agree that building a team is key.
As I styled this tiered tray, I was reminded that the little blogs struggling to stay up on a tier are being held up, supported, and encouraged by the bigger blogs on the bottom tier.
For that, I am immensely grateful.

It makes me want to break out the old pom poms and cheer.

Have a lovely day, my friends, my squad, my teammates!
Thank you.

  9. Both my middle and high school was fairly large. Meaning mainly the jocks were on the sports teams and the pretty girls got to be the cheerleaders. I was never very popular in either stage in school. My 10th year high school reunion is soon and I don't plan on going.

Even if I had the day off (which I don't), it's at a beer place (I don't drink) and after seeing old pictures people would upload on the FB group reminded me how much I hated a lot of them. If I went I figured it'd be lot like high school, only a few people would greet me warmly the others would pretend as if I didn't exist.

  10. Well I don't know the whole story behind your post, but sounds like your blogging friends rallied along when you were in trouble and your difficulties solved just through the spirit of friendship. Gotta love blogging ;)

Your tiered tray is so sweet, and I like the use of different fall colours.

    Yeah!
Up and running and it is an amazing tiered tray party, dear friend!
The hydrangea on your beautifully style tray are your pom poms! (wink!)

  16. Katie, I'm so touched reading your words here. I've been on the receiving end of blog support from the very beginning and hope I've been successful in returning the favor at times. Hyacinths is just a little blog, and I constantly feel the support and friendship of other bloggers. Your tiered tray is charming on many levels. Love the zinc, the asymmetrical aesthetic, the cow creamer, and the simple elegance of it all.
Hope your brother is improving and will be OK.
