While looking at Pinterest for Valentine's Day decor ideas, I saw Debra's moss heart.
If you haven't read the Common Ground blog, I highly recommend it.
She has the same affinity for darling vintage accents to decor as I do.
Crafting relaxes me so I decided to make one if I could find the hearts.
Hobby Lobby had some in paper mâché.
They had the moss as well.
Elmer's school glue worked perfectly to affix the moss.
One large piece made up the majority of the heart.
I filled in the rest with smaller pieces.
I was able to flattened most of it with my hand but some of the scraggly pieces needed a little snip with the kitchen scissors. Pink gingham ribbon and white mini rick rack wrapped across the heart.
A few flowers from the bottom of my flower tote decorate the front.
This is too perfect with a green scheme.
I pulled out my Valentine's Day tote of decorations last Sunday and didn't love the red or pink with my green and white kitchen.
This moss heart is perfect.
This moss heart is perfect.
This hangs on my grandmother's spice cabinet. It is one of my favorite heirlooms.
This was not expensive back in the day.
We had chocolate cake with friends after painting pottery at our local art museum.
The exhibit was Pablo Picasso pottery.
Did I do mine in that style?
Of course not.
I did mine in the style of Royal Copenhagen only with green instead of cobalt blue.
I will let you know how our pottery turns out once it is fired.
We had a fun weekend.
Have a wonderful week.
