Lemons Into Lemon Meringue Pie

One of my favorite desserts is lemon meringue pie.
I just love it.
Lemon meringue pie is a miracle of a confection, if you ask me.
My grandmother made it best.
She didn't have a recipe. She was a "little of this and a little of that" type of baker.
Boo.
I couldn't replicate it even if I wanted to stand over the stove cooking custard.

We've been all about the lemon at our house this summer thanks to Liz Marie.
I was happily adding a lot of lemon zest to our decor in early July when I got a call that pulled the rug out from under us as an extended family.

Suddenly, it looked like life had given us a lemon that no amount of sugar could fix - there would be no lemonade this time.
When life seemed to be giving us a citrus grove, I expected the miracle to come in the form of a daily reliance on Him over the long haul.
Not just for me but for every single individual involved.
This was a "Jesus, take the wheel" of  a Chevy Nova kind of lemon.

We had 4 long weeks of
"I can't breathe."
"Could this be happening?"
"Let me wake up from this dream."
"God is still good."
"How will we go on?"
"This is our life now."
"Help him - heal him.

Out of the blue, our miracle came in with:
"I showed up."
"Fantastic news."
"That wasn't My plan."
"Shout it from the roof top."
"What did you just say?"
"Tears of joy."
"I'm not finished, yet."
"Miracle!"

When doctors say we are 99% sure this is cancer, there is always the 1% that it's not but you dwell on the 99%.
You don't think about the 1%.
You don't think that your loved one will get to be the lucky 1% but that is exactly what happened.
Our lemons just turned into a whole big slice of lemon meringue pie.
We are so relieved and thrilled.
Prayers answered.

Thanks for lifting our situation up in prayer.
We are all thrilled.
