Our landscape guy let me know that he thought my shutters were the wrong color.
Okay...?
It didn't cause an identity because I knew the exact look we was going for when Bill made our shutters.
I wanted a French farmhouse feel.
When we were driving through the countryside of France, I almost cried.
It was so beautiful.
The cottages and farmhouses in Normandy were just precious.
They were more than I'd imagined them to be.
So many houses near the coast had white shutters.
As we got further inland other colors started to emerge.
Bill will not let us grow ivy up the side of the house.
Even though it looks charming, it can be destructive to the brick.
Many of the houses had lace curtains in the windows including Giverny.
Seeing these homes got me thinking about options for our house when we tire of the white.
I don't think that is happening anytime soon.
Have a wonderful day.
Paris is next on our tour of France.

Love the color choice of your white shutters and glad you saw that in France to reinforce that choice. Have fun in Paris.

Katie, love the white shutters! White is timeless and goes with anything. Hubby and I have plans to go to France sometime in the next few years. I can't wait!

ReplyDeleteThe white shutters enhance the brick and brings out the white in them. You have a lovely house.
