Christmas Deck 2018

I just want to say thank you for pinning. I appreciate it.
Last Monday I went to Joann's to get some fleece. I wanted to have some throws for the two porches.
The fabric cutting consultant, told me to be careful because of the bad weather that was coming. I didn't know about any bad weather.

It started raining that afternoon and it rained for 5 days. It was a cold and constant drip that seemed like it would never end.
My new throws were kept inside until it stopped raining.
That is my quick drought stopping tip. Go buy throws for the outside.
I'm kidding.
It takes more to end a drought. You have to wash your car too.
Eventually, the back deck got styled and I was able to take some pictures.

I've been drawn to items that have a vintage flair. If you were alive in 1983, you might remember the duck and goose craze. It was our first Christmas and ducks and geese were everywhere.

When I saw this darling at the produce store/garden nursery, he hoped into my cart. He got a wreath of holly for his neck.

Stop it! What a darling!

He's sitting on the school house desk. It's pretty perfect out here. It only needs protecting from the rain.

The pansies are flourishing. They will last until June. It's one of the things I love about our winters.

The greenhouse has been calling for lights since we put it up two years ago.

It started clouding up as soon as I got these pictures taken.
We might get snow.
Wouldn't that be fun?

We are expecting snow flurries tonight. Hoping to wake up to a good snow, but not predicted. Really cold and windy.

  4. I am excited and not excited about getting some snow. Only because I know it will get REALLY COLD after this and I am happy to be outside more playing in the garden without under-30 degree weather. ;)

Love your greenhouse and shed lit up for the Christmas season! Sooo cute, Katie!!! Mr. Goose made it to my Gardening board and a couple others have gone out, too. It was fun being with you the other day and the Lone Star girls!!!!!!

Merry Christmas to you, my friend,
    Hugs and blessings,
    Barb :)

  5. How frustrating to have the rain -- but I'm just envious you can actually be out on a deck in December!

  6. Katie, glad you are getting some use of your deck. We are expecting rain this week and it is really cold. I didn't do anything in our screened porch. It is just to cold to sit out there. I hope you do get some Christmas snow..Happy Weekend..Judy

  7. your little guy is adorable. He will need a neck garland for each season, you know. Be careful, you may start a fad. Love the seating area and throws. I'm always amazed to see Lowes put out Pansies here. They are so cute, but only last for 15 minutes after November 1. LOVE the greenhouse and little barn decked out. Have a wonderful Christmas, so Deb
