Our Tuscan Villa Outside of Florence

Hi friends,
I wanted to pop in and say hi and I want to thank you for all the kind words concerning the passing of my mom and my blogging break.
We are back from Italy. It was a good trip.
We are so blessed to be able to take a trip like this and there were very many inspiring things about Italy.
One of the most inspiring had to be our villa outside Florence.
I thought I'd share it's history and some pictures.

The villa was call Fattoria La Nutrice.

It is an old farm that belonged to the Medici family.

The yard had fig, olive, and citrus trees.

The house was redone in 2013 by a family of architects.

The thick stone walls were decorated with a variety of still life pictures.

You can see a mix of modern with the antique in the living room.

The owner had a nice collection of bird statues.

There was a very cool nook off of the living room for reading, dining or playing games.

The dining room boasted a huge fire place with a family crest above it.

It had a fun and industrial kitchen.

Cooking in it was a surreal experience.

I didn't get a picture of the old stone steps leading up to the bedrooms but they were amazing.

The doors were so cool.

Each bedroom was a little different. They all had antique beds.

Each bathroom was clad in travertine with brass fittings.

The views were unbelievable in each direction.

Staying in this home was an amazing experience. It was like staying in an old castle.
That is it for now.
I'll be back with some other highlights from our trip. I also hope to share some pictures of my floors, new antique pieces and some fall decor.
I hope you will be back to see.
Have a wonderful day.
