My Christmas Bedroom

Hi, Lovlies.
How are you?

The Christmas decorating is done - the pictures are almost done.
I have two more rooms to photograph and that is all!
I love adding some wintery/Christmas touches to our bedroom.
If you have been with me a while, you know that I absolutely love needlepoint pillows. I've collected several beautiful needlepoint pillows to throw on the bed during the holidays.

This black needlepoint pillow is a thrift store find.
I added black watch plaid pillows with this one this year.

I just love the black against all the white.
I used some of the black watch plaid to cover the chandelier cord.
It's very easy to do.
Cut about a 6 or 7 inch width of fabric twice as long as the chandelier chain.
Iron each edge. Put it around the chain and hot glue ironed edges together. So simple and so festive.

My night stand has a few things to go with the black.

This church needlepoint is a favorite!

I'm sorry about the glare on it. This was also a thrifted or antique store find years ago.

I painted an old Dept. 56 house black. This was a $5.00 garage sale find about 20 years ago.
It was red so I didn't bring it out very often. This is one of the early houses before they started adding trees and wreaths to make them look more Christmas-y.

I used artist acrylic in a tube because it has a sheen that simulates the glaze.

The painting is from my step mom's mom. I think she and her husband got this in NYC. It's one of my favorite paintings.

The candlestand table came from my step mom's house.
I'm at a loss as to where to put it so I stuck it here for the time being.

Some fun gift bags decorate the base of the tree. I got the Chanel box at a garage sale. It was empty.
:( haha.

The bathroom got some sprigs of holly and a Belsnickle.

There you have it. A Christmas bedroom tour.
My old iPhoto isn't playing nice with Blogger or visa versa. The photos are beautiful and crisp in iPhoto and then blurry when I hit publish in Blogger. I'm a little over it to be honest. I'm sure old Blogger isn't the best blog publishing tool out there but it's what I'm used to. I'm not paying to have someone host this old blog of mine. I kind of get why our good friend Stacey @ Poofing the Pillows called it quits after 10 years of blogging. I've been blogging for 8 next week.
I had 45,000 photos on my computer. I've spent a lot of time deleting stuff this week. My laptop is almost 6 years old which is a ancient in the computer world.
It might be time to get a new one and leave this one as an external hard drive.
My camera should be fine. I know I probably need a different lens to get full room shots but I hate to invest in something else.
I did some hopping around at some different blog tours for Christmas. I was a little surprised at the number of blogs that I'd never heard of before. I used to keep up with all of that but I just don't have as much of an inclination anymore. So much of what makes a successful blog is the networking but I just don't seem to have the energy for that. Just some random thoughts.

Please be in prayer for our friend,  Sharon, over At Rivercrest Cottage. She lost Wild Bill this week.
Are you finished decorating yet?
Katie

  1. It's hard to keep up with all the blogs but one I never try to miss is yours. I love your Christmas bedroom. I'm almost done and hopefully can start posting photos soon, but they won't be so pretty as yours. I know what you mean about the transfer of photos. At least, I'm blaming it on that (maybe when I make them big, all the flaws come out!) I'm so glad you continue blogging. I love it and yours and I plan to keep at it too. And no, never pay to post!
