Keep In Touch #97

I didn't  blog at all this week but here's what has been going on.

The flooring people came on Thursday afternoon. They are ordering some more stair nose.
They will take the old stair nose and one board off of the offending steps. I will choose a board to coordinate with each piece of stair nose. It will be a few weeks until the new stair nose is in. It will take a week or so to get one the calendar.

Bill went to great lengths at dinner on Friday night to get me to notice his hand.
When I finally noticed his hand, I saw a ring on his pinky. Bill has never worn any ring except his wedding ring. I thought he'd been to the jeweler.

He found a ring on his way from his gym to his office.

It looked real except that it felt a little too light weight.

It was very beat up. It had road wear from being run over.
We took it to the jeweler. It is real but the diamonds are very chipped.

I looked on the Craig's list lost and found. Nothing.
This was in the road in Dallas. Unfortunately, I doubt we will ever find the owner.
The jeweler polished it for me so that it won't scratch my finger. I asked her to keep the road scars on this sides because it's part of this ring's story.

I pulled out two older yellow gold rings and this is my current stack.

One of our chairs got a facelift today.

It was slipcovered hastily a few years ago with drop cloth fabric.

This time it's getting ticking stripes.

I still need to figure out what I'm going to do with the bottom edge. I can hem it or add a ruffle.
I thought I'd live with it for a day or two to see what I want to do.

Here are the features.

Judy at Gold Coast Cottage shares the progression of their house. I love reading about this.
