Keep In Touch #118

Hi Friends,
Welcome to Keep In Touch.
I hope you are well.
This week I shared the finished chippy park bench.

I also shared my use of baskets in the garden as part of the Lifestyle Of Love Blog Hop.

We are doing our best to stay cool. This is our part of the summer in which it is difficult to keep ourselves entertained.
I can only handle the heat in the yard for a few hours in the morning.
The flower beds in the woodland realm are planted.
We already have bean, zinnia, cosmos, radishes, and pumpkins seedlings already sprouting.

Bill's final project was to get the porch swing hung. It is up. I still have some vines to clean up in the area now known as Tortoise Hollow.

Once that is done, I will feel finished. Maintaining the new plantings is all that will remain to do.

Our tomatoes and cucumbers have been plentiful. We are enjoying daily salads with these fresh add ins.

A couple of years ago, I lost a darling stepping stone. We have terrible rushing of rain water in some of our Texas downpours. I thought it got covered up and I dug around for it. I couldn't find it but I dug around every time I planted flowers in this area.
I assumed that it had fallen into the retaining wall when we got that replaced.

The other day, I noticed a trampled begonia.

I wasn't sure if I needed to blame the dog or if our armadillo was back.
I went to stake it and the trellis hit something. I went to go get a spade because we have lots of rocks under the soil.

It was the stepping stone! About 6 inches in front of where I always started looking.
I am happy to have it back on display. I was grateful for the trampled begonia.

That's the news.
Now for the features.
I will be following this shed makeover from The Crowned Goat.

We just redid ours and it has been a game changer.

I also love this solar chandelier by Chaz, The Crazy Creator.

I'd love to have some solar lights in the garden.
Thank you so much for linking up each week.
I can't wait to see what you all are up to.

  6. Katie,
Joe bought a beautiful big zinnia for me and something chewed it down to nothing! I sprayed it too with an Insecticide for plants...I am going to cut it back and see if it will come back...
Thanks so much for hosting each week!! Stay safe, Healthy and happy!!
    Hugs,
