Our Christmas Kitchen

Hi, Friends,
How are you?

This past weekend, I stayed home from our new little house to take care of some things here at home.
It was just what I needed. I feel refreshed, rejuvenated and caught up.
I worked in the yard.
I cleaned out a couple of closets and the pantry. I matched my socks. Haha.
The other day, I did a deeper clean of the kitchen.
It looked so sparkly and bright that I thought I'd share it with you.

I've collected some fun things that have a Scandinavian feel.

Instead of red and green, this room has blues and grays.
The red and green gets relegated to the garden room and dining room.

Unfinished wood cottages are nestled in with my ironstone collection.

Santa mugs used to be pretty easy to find.
They are a hot collectable these days. I was fortunate enough to score some white ones but the child's sized mugs are darlings too.

A beloved gingerbread arrangement was moved to a blue enamelware pail. It used to sit in a red coffee pot. There used to be a crafter at our local H.S. craft fair. I loved her work so I  picked up several pieces from her but she quit coming a few years ago. We were focused on the new house, but I think the craft show was canceled this year.

Other than some ornaments from Walmart, this unfinished nutcracker is our only piece of new decor this year. It was originally $9.99 but I'm sure it was on sale for 40% off.  I put off buying him for two years in a row for some reason. Nutcrackers seem to be trending again for Christmas decor and I love the natural wood aspect of this little guy.
Rather than guard the dishes, I wish he'd help with the washing.

Here is our kitchen in relationship to the garden room. The doors are open most of the time since the garden room is a four season room.

The double doors visually expand both spaces.

I love the cozy nook under the stairs.
The stair garland is from Hobby Lobby.

The little girl on the dove was a summer thrift store find but it looked like Christmas decor to me.

It's enough but not too much decor. That being said, I dusted and rearranged a little bit since I took these pictures.
The greenery was getting a little crunchy and needed to be replaced.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you enjoyed a glimpse into our kitchen.
