Some Easter Vignettes For 2021

Hi, Friends,
I hope you are well.
Welcome.

Are you decorating for Easter? A few fun vignettes have been sprinkled about and I thought I'd share them with you.

It's all about the bunny this year.

These two bronze rabbits stay out all year. I got them from my step-mom's house when she passed away a year and a half ago. She shopped a lot at Gabbert's when she worked in Dallas in the late 70s. I don't know if they came from there or if she found them at Neiman Marcus. I think she found shopping a good distraction after my dad died. I've always loved them and no one else claimed them. Mary from Home Is Where The Boat Is has the small one. I've never seen them anywhere else. This might fall into the short story long category. Haha.

The mantel got some raffia bunnies and some sweet veggies to match.

The ticking chair holds a gorgeous pillow from Mont Saint-Michel.
I picked it up when we went to France a few years ago.

I've never displayed it until now. What was I waiting for?

Sweet bunnies frolic along the bottom. It's a shame they are hard to see.

I love white ceramic rabbits. They add a little pop of Easter and go so well with white ironstone.

I found these at Hobby Lobby a few months ago. I was glad that I shopped early because it was already picked over.

The new French commode got a crate and a thrifted hydrangea that still had the tags. Hobby Lobby still carries it, if you are interested. It's a pretty good looking faux. The textured print belonged to my parents. I always thought it was an oil painting and I don't care that it is not. I've always loved it. My siblings let me have it when my step mother died. It reminds me of Psalm 121. "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help."

Last week, I switched it up a little and put the dough bowl back on it.
The dough bowl looks so good on this piece.

The rabbit is nestled in some moss eggs. I covered the two larger paper mache´ eggs also from Hobby Lobby. It's the about the only place that I feel comfortable shopping these days. The store is so big and never crowded so social distancing isn't an issue. The rest came in a package as bowl filler. The paper mache´ carrots are fun.

The dining room is one of my favorite rooms in the house.  I use it a lot for blogging, sewing, puzzles, and crafting. I love a room that has many functions.

Another raffia bunny sits with another mossy creation and some vegetables. I wondered how a paper mache´ plaque covered with moss would look. I wrapped it with twine and hot glued a little flower and some ribbon to it. Kalanchoe plants are so long lasting. This $4.99 plant will bloom for weeks. When it's done, I'll pot it outside or put it in the ground.

Four frames from my parents got some sweet floral prints. These botanicals were an eBay find.

The decor in the corner cupboard doesn't change much but there is a spot in the center of each shelf for a little holiday or seasonal decor.

A moss little flower pot rests behind a thrifted cauliflower and bunny. The beet came from a yard sale out in East Texas.

The cabbage bowls were a Tuesday Morning find. There were four of them but these chip so easily that I'm down to two. They are so perfect for spring.

The carrot is an antique Christmas ornament.

That's it for now, Sweet Friends.
I'll be back to show you some spring out in East Texas.

  1. It's all so pretty, Katie. I'm all about the bunny this year too and will be taking photos soon. But oh, what a collection you have. That wreath looks fabulous on your newly-painted door. And I'm wondering how you got a big pillow home from France in your suitcase! Did you take any change of clothes?! that's a stunner. It reminds me of the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries in Cluny. Your home is beautiful and such festive fun!
