Keep In Touch #199

Hi, Friends,
How are you? I hope you are well.
Let me introduce you to Sweet Caroline.

I told Bill that I wanted a cat for my birthday but I said, "Do not get me a cat."

He was getting mixed signals.
Yesterday, Bill said that he was leaving work early so that we could go to the animal shelter.
He wanted to get me a cat for my birthday.
Okay... It doesn't hurt to look, right?
Just looking was how we got Dixie, just FYI.
They told us that her name was Carrollton (named for Carrollton, Texas). I immediately called her Caroline. As we were signing the contract for her, the wonderful employee at the animal shelter said, "Oops, her name is Coppell" as in Coppell, Texas. Nope. Her name is Caroline. I can't do anything with Coppell.  Plano was the worst choice of the litter. Really? This is all they've got?
We've got some cities with cute names such as Dallas or Addison. Why Plano?

She is being neutered today and I'll pick her up tonight. I hate that I'm picking her up when she doesn't feel well. She is already a year old so she needed to be fixed a while ago.
Life around here just wasn't the same without our kitty and even though, I wasn't quite ready, Bill felt like we needed to get a new cat. I'm happy he pushed it.

I shared some highlights from our time in East Texas this past weekend.

I also shared a post about some gifts from Nearly Natural.

We needed some faux plants out at the new house since we won't be there to water.
I love what they sent.
Now for the features.

I love this story of the Little Mallard by TeeDiddlyDee. This story is just too darling.

Here is another post from Marmelade Gypsy featuring charming wildlife, signs of spring, and the oldest microwave on record.

It makes me happy when spring arrives for my northern friends.

I also love these cones by Masterpieces Of My Life. I just adore chicken wire.

That is all for now.
I'll pop in to let you know how life with a new kitty is going.
Katie

  5. Caroline is gorgeous! I miss my kitties so much. Both died a few years ago at 21 and 22 years old. I can't get another because we've now adopted a dog that doesn't get along with cats. I'm hoping you'll post a lot of pictures of your new little girl! Thanks so much for hosting!

  7. COngrats on your new kitty, Sweet Caroline. Tee's story of the mallard ducks should be made into a children's book, I told her! And I also love seeing my Northern friends welcome spring...it's a nice way to let the season (my favorite) linger. Thanks, Katie, for putting this party together. I'm happy to join this week.
