Hello, Again

"Hello, Again"
I was riding around in the truck the other day and I heard this song by Neil Diamond.

Hello again, hello
Just called to say hello
I couldn't sleep at all tonight
I know it's late but I couldn't wait

 I don't know about you but when I can't sleep, I pray.
 I immediately thought of that.

Hello, my friend, hello
Just called to let you know
I think about you every night
When I'm here alone and you're there at home,
hello

When it got to the "here alone and you are there at home,"  I almost lost it.
It made me think of every lost loved one that has gone before me.
I miss them so.

I'm sorry to the people that see my driving down the road weeping.
It happens.
Nothing touches my soul more than an inspirational song.
I know that this song was written for the movie "The Jazz Singer."
I have absolutely no connotation for this song except that gleaned from listening to the lyrics because I never saw the movie.
Maybe, it's been crazy and maybe I'm to blame
But I put my heart above my head
We've been through it all
and you loved me just the same
and when you're not there
I just need to hear

I'm so glad that there are people in my life that love me unconditionally.
That is what drew me to my husband.
I knew he loved me know matter what.

The Lord also does this for me.
I stray.
I forget my devotion to Him and all that He has done for me.

Hello, my friend, hello
It's good to need you so
It's good to love you like I do
And to feel this way
When I hear you say,
hello

He has seen me through so many storms.
I need Him.

Am I perfect representation of the Christian walk?
Heavens no!
I know without a doubt that He is always there.

Hello, my friend, hello
Just called to let you know
I think about you every night
I know it's late
But I couldn't wait
Hello

"I couldn't wait."
Oh, that I would feel that way about prayer and reading my Bible.

I know that when I'm awake in the middle of the night, it is time to pray.
Someone - Somewhere needs prayer.
I think about Him.
What do you do when you can't sleep?

  2. Sometimes when I can't sleep I say the Serenity Prayer and think about each little part of it. Worry is deep in my bones too often. Laying there, thinking about life, and hopefully applying this prayer helps.
