The Christmas Tree Hoarder

I have a confession to make.
I was a Christmas tree hoarder.

I have purged the attic of five trees this year.

All the old, broken, mangled ones have been given away.

The lights were broken so they were all de-strung and re-strung.
Have you ever cut lights out of a tree?

There are only so many times that I want to reshape pine branches.

Our trees were usually hand me downs.

Some came from the thrift store.

Some had been spray painted to look flocked.

Most were past their prime.

Last Saturday Bill and I pulled our newish flocked tree down from the attic.
It was yellow.

I knew that the older flocked trees turned yellow but ours was only two years old.
Bill loaded it up in the truck and took it to the thrift store. Maybe someone can fix it.
You've seen a sneak peek of our living room tree.

You'll see our two new ones soon.

 I have exciting news.
I've been invited to be a part of a Texas Blogger Christmas blog hop.
I cannot wait.

It will be five days of Christmas decor from the homes of 25 Texas bloggers.
I am thrilled to be invited by Stacey of Poofing the Pillows.
Join us December 7 - 11, 2015.

Have a wonderful evening my friends.

  2. Congratulations on being invited to join a Christmas home tour, Katie! I can honestly say that I've never hoarded Christmas trees......lots of other items, but not trees! ho ho ho I may even sneak mine out of storage today to see if it's going to fit where I want it. Our house is small, so there aren't many choices. You've got the perfect spot next to your fireplace. Have fun decorating!

  5. Hi Katie!
You are well on your way with your Christmas decorating! You're right though. Some of the artificial trees give up the ghost way too soon. We've done fresh for a few years now but they have their issues too.
PS I loved your gingerbread themed tree. Super cute!

  6. This made me laugh, because I'm the not-so-proud owner of at least that many "Charlie Brown" Christmas Trees. And you are correct...some just aren't worth the work to get the lights out. We had to replace a string on our 'Good' tree last year and it took a couple of hours to just remove 2 strings of lights. Looking forward to seeing what you do with new product, Thanks, Sandi
