I was hand watering the yard and something interesting happened with my little black capped chickadees.
As the water was splattering on the branches the sweet little birds came and fluffed and flounced in the water.
I couldn't tell if they were bathing or looking for a tiny snack.
Either way, I had the best time trying to capture their antics as I cooled off in the process.
Even though fall is around the corner, it is still green and lush in our back yard.
The crepe myrtles are going crazy.
The trumpet vine is still blooming.
The oxalis came back as soon as the 100 degree days passed us by.
I love the little rebirth of the garden at this time of year.
Katie
We really do have a rebirth when it cools off. I love chickadees! They are so cute and playful.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen many birds where I live lately
ReplyDeleteIt is still very hot here too. I bet that was fun to play with the bird like that. They're probably all looking for water this time of year.
ReplyDeleteKatie, I too love they way the garden comes back to live as temps cool down. The little chickadees are too cute!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann

Katie,
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to watch the birds catch the "sprinkles" from the hose!
I agree, the Gardens are making one last lovely show before the Autumn coolness!
