4th of July Tablescape

I got the urge to pull out my 4th of July decor. I know I should have done it weeks ago so it could get traction on Pinterest but I'm more of a real time blogger.
Actually, I am a little ADD and this is the true story of how I got to the tablescape.

I moved a flower pot to get a little more sun. I saw the fern in an antique pickle crock. I knew the pickle crock probably had standing water that needed to be dumped out. Since the pickle crock has a 4 on it, I thought it deserved to be near the porch. That caused me to remember another cuter crock. I put the cutest crock on the porch which prompted a search for flags for the planter.

Once the flags were installed in the planter, the 4th of July bin needed a good going through for other impromptu decor.
More flags yielded the inspiration for the tablescape.

As I began to layer the china, I wondered how the dish dresser would look with Blue Willow.

Oh my. I love it.

Bless Crepe Myrtle. A summer bloomer even when it is sweltering.

I find that most dinner guests are confused by chargers but I love them.

Here is a short video I made.

Thanks for having a look.

  7. Katie, that was such an easy fix for marital harmony ! I am curious why you call the hutch and buffet a 'dish dresser' Love the blue willow dishes and those white chargers.

  12. Katie, it all looks festive. Love the crock and your pretty Blue Willow collection! I was late to pull out my red, white, and blue this summer. I got it out the week of Memorial Day. I leave it out all summer, and joke that it looks like an Uncle Sam Convention around here,
