I went out thrifting yesterday morning. I was looking for anything with a British Colonial, tropical or West Indies style.
Around the year 2000, there was a very tropical decor trend. It had sort of an African vibe to it.
I see elements from those decor days on almost every visit to the thrift store.
Today was no exception.
I think most of these items can be reused to fit British Colonial style if used sparingly.
I love the fabric with the palm tree.
Here are some things that I thought would work.
This reminded me of something they might have had in a Victorian conservatory.
This was probably my favorite thing that I saw.
Amazing right?
There was purse to go with the theme.
I only got one of the items pictured above.
I'll show it to you soon.

Katie,
ReplyDeleteI remember this decorating trend and now it seems like it is making a big comeback!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! I will post how my surgery went when I come home which may be on Tuesday but my surgery is not scheduled until 3pm so I may have to stay 2 nights to get my PT sessions in before discharge..
Hugs,
Debbie
It looks like a wonderful day out! I can't wait to see what you do with what you bought1
ReplyDeleteI just got back from vacation in Missouri and I was REALLY wishing that I had driven rather than flew so I could go thrifting and antiquing.
