Transitioning From Summer To Fall Blog Hop/Sunflowers, Apples and Pears

Welcome the the Transitioning from Summer to Fall Blog Hop.
I love pumpkins but there is no need to rush things. October will be here soon enough.
There will be plenty of pumpkins next month. I love decorating for the short time period in between summer and fall.
My blogging friends do too. I want to give a shout out to Amber at Follow the Yellow Brick Home for putting this blog hop together.
Her hops are always amazing and her is home is adorable. I can't wait to see what she shares.
If you are coming from Carol at Art and Sand, welcome. I love Carol's coastal cottage.
Those warm tone florals are gorgeous.

September was all about apples when I was teaching and I amassed a lot of fun apple collectables over the years.

I gave many of them away when I quit teaching but there are still a few treasured keepsakes that come out during late summer.
I love pulling out my late summer/early fall bins.

A Dollar Tree truck was repainted to hold apples instead of pumpkins.
I discovered the secret to perfect lettering on YouTube. I'll share it with you soon.

There are plenty of fun motifs to display until it is time for pumpkins, gourds, and scarecrows.

Sunflowers are a favorite of mine.

Vintage Japanese chickens and roosters add a fall farm vibe.

The lavender and sunflowers sprinkled about have brought me joy during our great flooring escapade.

This black and white gingham sunflower is repurposed from a burlap one that had seen better days.

Pears are also a favorite this time of year.

I added a new honey pot to my collection. I love the color on this one.

My favorite display is this Farm Fresh planter. It came from the Raz Import Warehouse Sale.  It's adorable. The fairy lights are a fun addition.
That is it for now.
Be sure to stop by Calypso In The Country to see how she adds some different elements for fall.

  6. Now you have me wondering what happened to my apple collection. I had some really fun pieces and can remember where I put them.

I love the pillows on your sofa. I'm waiting for a part for my sewing machine, but I might just go with some bold florals for fall. Thanks for the inspiration.

  11. Katie, love what you did to the DT truck and changing it from pumpkins to apples! The pears are a nice element for this time of year too. Mixing purple (lavender) and yellow gold (sunflowers) is a very appealing color mix for me. And yes, that little truck planter is super cute. Little lights ramp up the decor factor is everything! Happy September!

  14. Katie,
Apples are Fall, aren't they? Fall is the season to harvest them, and apples are symbolic with back-to-school days for me. I, too, saw your FB post about losing your mother. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

  16. Oh how adorable all of this is! I have a few roosters and chickens I am using in the kitchen for farmhouse fall too. I love how you have them clucking around here and there among your pretty treasures. The rooster and sunflower tea towel is so cute. I also love the lavender, sunflower and eucalyptus in the red transferware. My favorite has to be the sunflower pillow mixed with the red florals and ticking pillows. So cottagey!

Thank you so much for joining the hop. Happy summer-to-fall time!

  19. I love that Farm Fresh display, too, Katie! Everything looks perfect for easing into fall. I had never thought about how many apples a teacher might collect over the years! I think I'll avoid gifting apples to my kids' teachers. Ha ha. Love all the vignettes!

  25. Your rooster towel is the cutest! I, too, love farm things this time of the year, probably because it's harvest time. The warm, late summer early fall sunshine fits perfectly with the colors you've used; love the gold, red, black and mossy greens together! Fun to see all your vintage finds, Katie!
