I've been a thrifter for years and years.
My first pieces of furniture were flea market finds way, way back in the day.
My first pieces of furniture were flea market finds way, way back in the day.
I haven't gotten away from thrifting but now that I have a job again, the temptation to run to Hobby Lobby is strong.
So one of my resolutions this year was to shop resale before buying new.
One of my thrift stores benefits families in crisis.
I found a wonderful ironstone coffee service there last week.
It has an ivy relief with a sweet pink detail.
I popped it up to the top shelf of my corner cupboard.
It was $28.00 for all three pieces.
I thought it was a great deal benefiting a good cause.
I popped some dried flowers in a milk glass pitcher.
The sweet petit point lamb came from my antique store.
The black and gold teapot was thrifted.
The napkin ring came from my mother in law.
Her mother hand painted all of the china.
She didn't marry until later in her life so she had time to paint china in her spare time.
The art nouveau boxes came from an estate sale.
I thought you would like to see.
Speaking of seeing.
My "cheating" ways have finally caught up with me. I noticed that my distance vision (which used to be almost perfect) was not as good. My new prescription glasses are in production.
No more glasses used as a headband for me.
I'll show them to you when they are ready.
That is it for now.
Thanks for stopping by.
