The Secretary

I have a fixation with secretary desks.

I'm not sure why except that I just adore the drop down writing surface although I never actually sit at one to write the imaginary letter to my imaginary pen pal.
I could, however.

The surface doesn't really work for a lap top.

We have too many desks. Two of them were within 8 feet of each other.
That has to be breaking some sort of decorating rule.

I was standing at the island eating my cereal one morning and it hit me.
The secretary and the bakers rack were roughly the same dimensions.

As soon as my empty bowl was in the sink, both pieces were divested of their accessories and moved.
The bakers rack went back outside.

It never looked great against the gray wall but it is such a cute piece.

The hunt for this piece lasted at least a decade.

I finally found one for a price I was willing to pay but it just wasn't working where it was.

We almost separated the top from the bottom.
Thank heavens we didn't get around to doing that.

It's a darling.

It looks amazing in this spot.

 Have a great day!

  3. Katie,
Don't you just love it when a plan comes together, dear friend?
Those moments when your mind is "fresh" and receptive to change
are magical for me! Fortunately, not so much for my "Mr. Ed". . .
but he has become a better sport since his retirement!
    Thanks for sharing!
    Fondly,
    Pat
