Pinterest Challenge/ A Simple Elegant Tablescape

Welcome to October's Pinterest Challenge hosted by Cindy of County Road 407.
Cindy continues to inspire us month after month and this month is no exception.

If you are coming from Decor To Adore, I'm thrilled you are here. I love Laura. She is a wonderful blogging friend. She is as darling in person as she is on her blog.

This gorgeous simple and elegant Thanksgiving tablescape is from Lindsay Brunk.
The copper flatware, the gray tablecloth, the thankful graphic and the eucalyptus were all elements that stuck out to me initially.
It's sleek and modern and elegant. My version has the same elements but it's cozy, cottage, and farmhouse all rolled into one.

We don't have any copper flatware but we did have a gold set that I picked up last year at the thrift store.
It became the springboard for my version of the tablescape.
Several years ago, I attended An Evening With Joanna Gaines.
This printable was one of our favors from the evening.
Fixer Upper was only one season old at the time and Joanna's popularity had just begun.
I was even able to get my picture with Chip.

The eucalyptus for my version came out of the centerpiece we've been enjoying this fall.
It is a garland from Kirkland's. I cut it in half. Half of it is in here and the other half is in the kitchen.
It's full of pumpkins, lambs ear, eucalyptus and white berries.

Instead of a napkin, I pulled out some black, white and gold hotel china.

This table is set for Bill and I. During the country and Victorian heyday of the 80s and 90s, Salado, Texas was one of the places to go for a wonderful antique weekend.
I found these two plates in a darling shop called Sir Wigglesworth. I always hoped to find more to match but I have never seen anymore like them.

Black and white buffalo checked pumpkins have been a favorite this fall.

They go well with the china from Bill's grandmother.

I wish I had more of this china to use for Thanksgiving because I love how this came together.

Be sure to stop in and see Lora Bloomquist at Create and Ponder. She has such a cute, cute style.
Then hop over and see everyone in the link up.
I bet they had as much fun as I did.
Have a great day.
Katie

  4. Those plates are so pretty and the name of the shop where you found them made me giggle. I also love the pattern of Bill's grandmother's china. You are so lucky that you got to meet JoAnna Gaines. That must have been a fun event. Also love your centerpiece. I wish we still had Kirklands in my town. It left a long time ago and I always found good stuff there.

  8. Your table setting is so charming and beautiful, Katie. Those printables are so perfect for your Thanksgiving table. I love the different colors you've blended and those buffalo check pumpkins. I traveled to Salado once when I was in college. It was for a lecture, and I found the whole environment to be quite unique!

  10. Katie,
Lovely Thanksgiving table... I loved Sir Wigglesworth in Salado and really miss shopping there. Over the years, I bought many things, including the handpainted bunnies on fence boards that hang in my stairwell. The owner of the store painted that huge scene, and it hung on the porch at Sir Wigglesworth for years. When she closed the store, she had a great sale, and I was able to buy her original painting.

  15. Oh, Katie, Sir Wigglesworth was my favorite store in the whole world. We stopped there every year after picking the kids up at camp. It was sad to see it go. Love your simple place settings and how special to have that card from the early days of Fixer Upper.
