Hi, Friends,
How are you? I hope you are staying warm.
What in the world has happened to Texas?
We've gotten snow before but we haven't gotten these low temperatures with it. Usually, it snows overnight, we wake up to a blanket of snow and it begins to melt that day.
It snowed all day on Sunday with three bands of heavy snow.
It melted some but not very much.
We don't have snow plows down here so we rely on heavy traffic to get the snow off of the roads.
This morning it was 1˚. 12˚ tonight seems almost tropical.
We have power so far. My mother in law's place was out of power so she is with us for the time being.
Bill is supposed to be working but half of his employees are without power so I'm not sure how much they will be able to get done.
It is -2 out our little house. I hope that all is okay out there. He is going to text our new next door neighbor. today to check on things not that there is anything we can do from here.
We have more snow in the forecast and a few more days until it stays above freezing.
The snow shovel that I bought for a dollar certainly paid for itself.
I was going to use it in winter decor and forgot about it. We found it during the shed makeover last April.

This would have been fun had the power grid held up to the demand.
Canada can come take their weather back.
This week I shared some Romantic Decor.
I also shared some topiaries that I rescued from the trash.
I love the symmetry of these. I usually don't have to have things symmetrical.
Now for the features.
I love this sweet post by Debbie of Debbie Dabble.
Her sweet act of service blesses her whole townhome complex, I'm sure.
These flowers are so beautiful. The workmanship is amazing.
That is all for now.
Thank you so all your support. I hope you will join our link up this week.

Hope things are ok at your country place. We're like you but about 5 degrees colder. We're not getting to freezing until Friday. so cold it's awful. Hopefully no rolling blackouts. We're trying to keep usage of gas and electricity down. Thanks for hosting. Take care and stay warm!
ReplyDeleteOur neighbor checked on our place, yesterday and so far all is okay. We tried to prepare but I don't know if anyone was prepared for the power grid to fail.

I am because of the two years that I lived in Indiana during the winter of '78 but I was a teenager not worrying about frozen pipes etc. I've been here a long time and I forgot what it is like to be cold inside the house. We haven't lost power fortunately.
DeleteI can't wait to dive into all these fabulous links, Katie! Thanks so much for hosting. I hope your week is a special one. I cannot get over all the snow. IT's crazy! Hope you guys are staying nice and toasty. Hugs, CoCo
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you kept power! I have friends in Fort Worth that have not had power for 2 days. They have been staying warm in their car. It's been a crazy winter!

ReplyDeleteHave a nice week.
