Welcome to Keep In Touch.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I've managed to keep really busy this week but I didn't take the time to blog.
You can read about that here.
Bill and I finished crown molding in the kitchen this weekend. I will have a post about it soon. I promise.
Crown molding is such a wonderful detail.
I did my toes, nails and hair color but I really want a hair cut. Does anyone know where I can find one of those speak easy type hair salons?
I'm kidding. My salon is supposed to open back up on the 18th but I don't know when I'll feel comfortable going to it.
If I cut my own hair, will I have to find a new stylist when this is over?
I'm spending a lot of time in the garden. I'm now wearing gloves to protect against age spots.
Clearly, judging from the above photo, I needed to start wearing gloves many years ago.
I love it though. There are many fun things blooming right now.
While in Quarantine, Bill and I will have celebrated Easter, Anniversary, Mother's Day, my birthday, his birthday and probably Father's Day too.
He is going to be 60. I was going to go and tour a venue for his party but I kept putting it off for some reason. I am so glad I did because I don't think things will be back to normal for a while.
You can read about my 60th birthday in this post. It will help you see why I'm so torn about what to do for him. He made hats to go with my blog! Hats and dish towels - how can I compete with that?
I think that a drive by party would be iconically 2020 and would perfectly encapsulate what is going on. He would always remember it, that is for sure.
I think we will zoom for Mother's Day. What are you going to do?
Now for the features.
This Chocolate Cobbler looks amazing. The title of the post (Comforted) really portrays how I've been feeling about food right now.
I love Penny's Prayer Room. What a wonderful idea for these difficult times.
What a blessing it is to see people leaning into their faith.
Thank you so much for sharing this past week. I loved looking at your posts.

Thanks for hosting, and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWe are also going to Zoom for Mother's Day with our children and grandchildren. Drive by birthday celebrations are a big hit where I live, and the community is doing the same to congratulate all the seniors who are graduating with the schools closed.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for continuing to host during this health crisis, spreading beauty, laughter and information!! Stay Safe, Healthy and Happy!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Debbie
I had a hair appointment today which I'd made about 3 months ago. It was a little weird but since I've been with my stylist for about 25 years I wasn't really very worried. They have a small salon and have very strict procedures to be in compliance. Wear your mask, that will help make you feel safer. I remember your party and it was amazing! and that chocolate cobbler looks so delicious! thanks for hosting, Katie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Katie. I'm loving the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteYour hairdresser won't fire you. But you'll probably have to pay a lot more the first time out! I think I will look like an entirely different person when I see my stylist again...and not a good one.
My hairdresser made me a hair color kit that I picked up at her house and I had my son apply it. He also cut the back and I cut my bangs and sides. Thanks for hosting, Katie, and for sharing the features.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that I do not have to worry bout coloring my hair...Going natural 7 years ago at 55 years old was one of the best things I ever did..My hair is so much healthier since I stopped coloring it...And I am glad that my stylist gave me such a great hair cut right before all of this happened because it is just morphing into a different style...

Thank you so much for including my prayer room in your features this week.....xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love that you are taking extra time to do things that are important to you Katie! Your nails, molding and flowers are all so pretty. After having to celebrate 2 birthdays in quarantine and my sweet Dad's 70th birthday celebration trip to France being canceled we've decided all birthdays March-July deserve a total redo and a big blow out :) 2020 is definitely going to be a year we'll never forget! Stay safe and thanks for hosting. Hugs, CoCo
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me the pretty nail color? Thank you!!!
