A Blackberry Bramble In Our Kitchen

Some cute blackberry picks were added to our summer kitchen at the beginning of July.
Fall is quickly approaching and I'm running out of time to show you their cuteness.

Strawberry or cherry collectables are my usual "go to" summer accents but those weren't speaking to me this year. I was not ready to add a third color to our new blue and white scheme.
Even though I have several totes of fruit and flowers in the garage, we didn't have anything blackberry. Shocking, I know.
I did what I always do in a situation like this. I made the circuitous route to the local hobby and craft stores. Joann's and Michaels didn't have anything. Hobby Lobby had one blackberry bunch.
Joann's had raspberries last summer and I picked up a few of those at their spring and summer clearance sale.
Hobby Lobby currently had some raspberries. Into the cart they went.
The kitchen table became a berry painting station.

I pulled out all my blue paints.

Dots of green were added for a more natural look. Some of them even got a sprinkling of glitter!

You can't tell that these used to be raspberries.

Our farmhouse style shelf is always fun to decorate with my latest fruit theme.

We had no little china bits to add to the cubbie. EBay's prices with anything blackberry were ridiculous.
The town of Cleburne is a short hop, skip and jump down the new Chisholm Parkway.
Bill had to work July 5th, so I went on a little post holiday shopping excursion.

My new favorite antique store had a Royal Worcester blackberry egg coddler/jam jar for $8.00.
It was less than half of what it was from eBay. Some of the sellers on eBay get you with their shipping costs.
It is the Lavinia pattern.

If you are ever passing through Cleburne, stop in at Bus Depot Antiques and Marketplace.
It really is an old bus depot.
It's so cute and they have good prices.

I picked up a new blue and white cream pitcher. It was $15.00.

A blackberry cobbler recipe was tucked into the shelf to coordinate with the theme.
Some berries are in a vintage canning jar. Some sprigs were plunked into a galvanized flower pot.

All this blackberry activity got us in the mood for cobbler.

I even made one beaded blackberry.

What a pain in the patootie that was.

The internet was a good source for a few antique images.
I love, love, love this one in the Eastlake Victorian picture frame.

A stamped tag is tucked in the bunch from Hobby Lobby.
Scrabble letters spell our theme.

It's been a cute theme!
Here are a few of my other fruity themes.
Lemons , lemonade
Cherries
Strawberries
Apples, more apples
Pears
Thanks for stopping in for a look.
What's next? Will I break out the pumpkins soon?

You are so smart to paint the berries to suit the color you need, I wouldn't have thought of that.
