Some Recent Thrifted Finds

Hi, Friends,
How are you? I hope you are well.
It's been a little while since I've showed off some thrifted finds. Some you might have seen in my last post
I love collecting for a theme.

A few weeks ago, my brother was here and we did some junking.
It was so good to spend time with him and do something normal.

I found this adorable green coffee pot. This is how I styled it in my East Texas kitchen.

That green spatterware is just too cute. It was $10.00 which I thought was a great price.

I was surfing Facebook Marketplace and saw that a long time friend of mine was selling a quilt.

I've been on a quilt kick.

It is my first Facebook Marketplace find, if you can believe that. It was $22.00. It belonged to her great aunt Su. I have an Aunt Susan so I thought that was fun.

I also found one at my thrift store. It was $24.00.

I can't make them for that.
A friend of mine was giving away a quilt stand.

Its transformation has begun. The potato bin was a $10.00 antique store find.
It's been updated. I don't know what I'll use it for but it was cute. I think it's going to be a planter for some faux florals.
Since these are green, they are headed out to East Texas.

I went antiquing on my birthday.

I was so happy to find this red transferware lamp for $36.00. It's been rewired and it is good to go.
It is perfect for my red 2021 kitchen.

I love it when I find cute faux flowers at the thrift store. It benefits my favorite charity and provides some seasonal decorating fun at the same time.

Michael's wreath with a $79.00 price tag. It was $15.40.
These filler flowers were $1.50 each.

Bill and I went to the architectural salvage place. These opera glasses were only $2.00!
They are stunning. They clearly didn't know what they had.
The demanded a turquoise moment in the step back cupboard.

My thrift store has opened a sister store which has nicer antiques and collectables.
A Windemere's Fan muffineer is from the Buckeye Glass Co. It makes me wonder if my mother's biscuit jar isn't from the same company. They have a very similar look so they are paired together.
I need to do some research on that.

They also had these darling strawberry glass jars. I didn't realize it at the time, but they are missing the lids. I don't care because they are cute.

I just noticed the crooked candle. Oh well. I can't do anything about that since I'm not in East Texas.
The vintage tablecloth was just a couple of dollars.
It's so fun.

The best find wasn't mine.
My daughter found this tea towel for me for my birthday at an antique mall.

A black cat on a green towel that says Friday. We love arriving at the new house on Friday nights.
This might be the best antique find to date.
Thanks for stopping by.

Strawberry Collectables For Early Summer Decoration

Hello, Friends,
I hope this finds you well and encouraged.
If you have been around for a while, you will know that I love a good vintage theme for our seasonal decor.

All of our seasonal decor is sorted by theme and store in totes out in the garage.
I was in the mood to pull out my strawberry themed decor.
Some of it went out to East Texas for our little kitchen out there.

The pops of red are fun with all of the green.

Since the East Texas house is smaller, there were some fun strawberry collectables left over.

I decorated the corner cupboard at home with some of my favorite pieces.

I painted the fresh strawberry sign for the door of the corner cupboard.
Let's look inside.

Green dishes and red glassware coordinate with the theme.

The strawberry cup was a recent thrifted find.

A fun strawberry wreath from the Raz Imports warehouse sale hangs against the glass.

The dining table got a few bits of decor.

Faux strawberries decorate a faux cake.

I just love a fun theme.
That is all for now.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Keep In Touch #201

Hi, Friends,
Welcome to Keep In Touch.
I hope this finds you well.

This week I wrote about our bed. I'd wanted to paint it for a long time. Bill finally gave me the go ahead.
Spoiler alert! I painted the bed.

I love it white.

I also revealed our laundry room out in East Texas.
If I have to be in the laundry room, I want it to be cute.

Now for the features.

This crocodile is just adorable by Lalka Crochetka

This bee themed tiered tray by My Home of all Seasons is just too cute. Bee themed objects are perfect for summer.

These breakfast enchiladas by Homemade On A Weeknight sound amazing.

Thank you for linking up last week.

East Texas Laundry Room Reveal

Hi, Friends,
Look at me, blogging twice in a week. Life must be getting back to normal.
How's it going?
It's time to reveal another room in our East Texas house.
There is no natural light in this space so I've had a terrible time getting good photos for you. I've given up! I think you'll want to see the transformation anyway.

The laundry room was scary when we looked at the house. It was part laundry room, part pantry and part workshop.

We cleaned it up and it looks pretty cute.  Do you want to see what we did?
Of course you do. That's why you're here.
When we closed on the house, this room was an empty shell except for the hot water heater, the light fixture and two shelves behind the door. I thought that there was a window behind the door. Sadly, there was not.
Hopefully, some day, Bill will be able to add a window.
Shortly after we moved in, I took down the shelves so that I could get some paint on the walls and ceiling. As soon as the paint was dry, I hung up some art just so the room wouldn't be so depressing. The wall in the image below is in my line of sight from the kitchen.

Bill ordered the washer and dryer shortly after we closed on the house.

We were fortunate to get them quickly during Covid.
Unfortunately, our outlet wasn't a dryer outlet. It was a stove outlet. Bill found one and switched it out the next weekend.

We've had the cow canvas for a few years. I got it at Laurie Anna's Vintage Home in Canton. Every once in a while we can hear the cows across the road.
We got the floors done shortly after the delivery of the washer and dryer.
Our floors are a luxury vinyl plank by Lawson Floors. The pattern is Lauder. Caring for them is a breeze.

Flooring made a huge difference. The lighting was very yellow and it made the room have a golden cast even after I painted the walls.
Bill hung up the shelf and peg rail. He made this ages ago after we saw one like it at Crate and Barrel in Dallas. I painted it because the pine had turned an orange color over the years.

That water heater was bugging me.
Bill replaced the light fixture for us with a cute one from Home Depot.
We have three light bulbs instead of one. It made a big difference.

We also found a set of bi-fold doors at an antique store in town. The water heater isn't gas so this is a safe way to hide it.
A darling bird hook from Hobby Lobby holds a vintage apron and a dish towel. Both are green which is our East Texas color.

A table was a $5.00 yard sale find. Bill found the sale on his way to the dump.
It's now the cat food table for our Sweet Caroline.

It's painted in my favorite chalk paint by Ceramcoat in the color Lichen.
The Crate and Barrel inspired shelf is decorated with vintage finds and new baskets.

The electric iron came from the same shop as the bi-fold doors. I painted the handle and disconnected the cord. I thought about using it but I didn't want to die. Ha.
I had to have the White Cottage floor cleaner when I saw it in an antique shop at home.
It's perfect.
Bill thought I'd lost my mind. There is still cleaner in the bottom of the bottle. I'd use it but I don't want to die. :)

The toy washboard belonged to my mom. The older iron came from my grandmother's house.

I found the chicken the same day as the doors.
I spray painted the lid of a sour kraut jar. It's new but the barrel shape of the glass makes it look vintage.

I printed the old washing machine graphic from the Graphics Fairy.

The rooster and chicken print came from my favorite thrift store. I passed them up for a couple of weeks until I decided they were perfect for East Texas.
The rooster reminds me of how much I want the rooster next door to stop crowing.
Give it a rest!
"We get it. You're a rooster."

We needed a spot to hang some brooms.
We had some live edge wood from our wood guy who lives in Rendon, Texas.
The hooks were from Ace. I soaked them in vinegar overnight to achieve instant age.
It's a happy accident that the brooms are green to go with our color scheme.

It's cute hook system and it fits with the theme of our house.

Cubbies from Target finished off the space.
I think I'd like to try taking off the door. It just seems in the way. I don't mind looking into a cute laundry room and we don't really close the door anyway.

There you have it. Our East Texas laundry room. It's great getting a load or two done before we head home. It makes my Monday a little bit easier.
Thanks for stopping by.
